Can you provide matching slabs of different thicknesses?

As one of the UK’s premier importers and wholesalers of granite marble limestone and slate, we fully understand the importance of matching slabs from an aesthetic perspective. Since we buy in such volumes, we are generally able to specify the appropriate ratio of slabs to allow us to offer matching slabs across a number of finishes and thicknesses.

I am working to a tight timescale. Can I have ‘first delivery’?

In order to keep our delivery charges low, our transport team work hard to ensure all our vehicles take the most economical route to fulfill their delivery schedules. On occasion, requests for first deliveries can be accommodated, but this cannot always be guaranteed.

    Does Granite need any maintenance?

We recommend that your stone is sealed with Dry-Treat, the world’s leading permanent impregnating sealer, for premium stain protection. With correct care, your stone will look beautiful for many years.

Spills:Spills should always be wiped up as soon as possible. Because the pores of the stone remain open, the surface is not immune from staining; however the impregnating sealer will give you plenty of time to clean up spills before they are absorbed. The use of coasters with drinks is also highly recommended.

Daily care and Cleaning: For optimum performance, we recommend that your stone is cleaned regularly with our specialist cleaner. Hannifin Rejuvenata is a pH neutral cleaner developed especially for stone. It is food safe with a mild natural citrus scent and has been formulated to increase protection of your stone.

Stubborn Stains and Spring Cleaning: Hannifin Oxy-Klensa has been specially designed for more stubborn grime marks. It is a powerful oxygen based, odourless and environmentally responsible alkaline cleaner. Acid cleansers should never be used.

    What size are your slabs?

We import many different varieties of ‘random’ slabs from our carefully selected supply chain partners worldwide. As such, these range in size based on a number of factors, including material type, structural properties and the complexity of the quarrying process. If you are looking for a particular slab size, or to make a specific item, our experienced team will assist in providing the most appropriately sized slab for your project.

How do I handle the materials?

Granite is a dense and therefore very heavy material. This, combined with the physical dimensions of each random slab means that handling must be undertaken using mechanical plant. At The Marble & Granite Centre Ltd, we operate a fleet of mechanical handling equipment including a gantry crane and a fleet of crane equipped delivery vehicles.

    Can I collect my slabs?

As well as our industry leading distribution service, we offer our fabricator clients the opportunity to collect all of their purchased slabs. Our stockyard is equipped with a gantry crane which can be used by our highly experienced team to load a wide variety of vehicles quickly and efficiently to maximise your workshop productivity.
